Lip blushing — a permanent makeup technique — adds color, definition, and symmetry to the lips. Lip filler is a dermal injection that adds volume. Many clients benefit from one, the other, or both — but they are not interchangeable. What is lip blushing?

Lip blushing is a permanent makeup technique that deposits pigment into the lips using a digital PMU machine. The result is a custom tint — typically a soft rose, mauve, or berry tone — applied evenly across the lip surface with definition along the border. The color looks like a natural flush, not lipstick.

Lip blushing also improves symmetry. If one side of the upper lip is higher or lower than the other, the technique can visually correct this. It cannot change the actual shape of the lip — only the perceived edge.

What is lip filler?

Filler typically lasts 6–12 months before it breaks down and is metabolized by the body. Maintenance injections are required every 6–12 months to maintain results.
